Specialty Camps give participants an opportunity to focus on one topic (such as robotics or soccer) for a longer period of time than in our regular courses.

| Soccer Camp |

Come and learn the basics of the most popular sport in the world, plus some cool new skills and tricks. Taught by an experienced soccer instructor, participants will be grouped by skill and experience, as well as age. Please dress appropriately for outdoor play.

| Pioneer Camp |

Come and experience the life of the pioneers of a century ago at the Manitoba Agricultural Museum in Austin. Play pioneer games such as sack and wheel barrow races. Try your hand at making bread, butter, soap and even rope. Explore the general store, grist mill, print shop and school house. Get out into the fields to stook sheaves and learn to identify native vegetation. NOTE: This camp includes transport to Austin each day, so please bring a picnic lunch, water, sunscreen, etc.

| Babysitting Camp |

This Red Cross Baby-Sitting Course provides basic training in childcare, safety and first aid, as well as teaching participants how to deal with different age groups and behaviours. Participants must be 11 or older to receive Red Cross certification.
The course lasts 10 hours; please note full attendance is necessary for certification.

Come and improve your badminton game. Participants will have fun learning new skills and techniques, taught by an experienced coach provided by Badminton Manitoba. Register early as space is limited.
Badminton Camp participants may also register for regular Mini U classes in the afternoon for a total registration fee of $175.

Lights! Camera! Action! Come to this camp based on our popular movie making course, to develop and produce a (short) movie from story board and script to finished DVD. You will be part of a team that writes, acts and shoots a video in one week.

| Survivor Camp |

The essentials of wilderness survival. Staying safe, building fires, cooking, shelter building, campcraft, animal identification and tracking. This camp includes an overnight camp-out in Spruce Woods on Thursday night, and meals on Thursday evening and Friday.

| Kiwanis Kids Leadership Challenge |

Are you up to the challenge? Work as part of a team to complete a series of tough but fun physical and mental challenges designed to build fitness, confidence and leadership skills. With the help of community volunteers, activities involve such themes as survival, life-saving, fire and rescue, law enforcement and entrepreneurship.

Known as “The Gentle Way”, this Japanese martial art is fun, up-close and personal. Go beyond our regular Judo course and spend more time practicing techniques in a fun, safe environment. This camp is also perfect for beginners!

A crime has taken place in Brandon and it is up to you, the forensic scientist, to figure out who did it. Learn how police and forensic scientists use chemistry, biology, physics and psychology to track down criminals. Explore a crime scene and look for clues! Follow the crime from discovery to trial. You never know what you'll find...the outcome may surprise you!

Do you want to learn about real engineering? Build your own robot kit, watch it drive itself around, learn how it works, and take it home. You will be soldering in this course, so be prepared to use safety glasses and your common sense.

A week of serious video gaming. Strategise, plan, and play as part of a team, led by an experienced gamer/instructor. The focus this year will be on a secret new game that combines real-time strategy with first-person combat and RPG leveling.

Design and program your own 2D video game! Create your own characters, enemies, and levels using “Scratch”, a simple yet powerful game programming system designed by MIT for use by almost any age.
