The S. J. McKee Archives is the principal repository for records of archival value created by Brandon University or which relate to the history and mandate of Brandon College and Brandon University. The Archives also collects records of selected Brandon College and Brandon University faculty and alumni.

The S. J. McKee Archives also acquires manuscript collections which support the research and teaching programs offered at Brandon University. These include archival records related to rural development, education, agriculture, heath studies, First Nations, and the City of Brandon.

Areas of current strength in the holdings of the archives include the records of the Manitoba Pool Elevators, the A. E. McKenzie Seeds Company, the Provincial Exhibition Association of Manitoba, and the records of the former School of Nursing at the Brandon Mental Health Centre.

The S. J. McKee Archives has also acquired a number of special collections. These include the George Thorman Collection of Canadian Public School Textbooks, the Thomas Dudley  Howland Collection of Fabian Society Publications, and the Library of Manitoba Pool Elevators.

 The Gordon Jory  Collection of Manitoba  Postal History
Throughout his adult life, Mr. Gordon Sterling Jory was an avid collector of stamps and in particular of postal covers.

In the course of his collecting, Mr. Jory assembled a historic collection of Manitoba postal covers.
