NANUQ, 1995, Alootok Ipellie, ink on paper, 21.4 cm. x 19.6 cm. The artist was born on Baffin Island, N.W.T., in 1951. He attended school in Iqaluit and in Ottawa, where he currently resides. He has contributed stories, poems and drawings to many magazines, and is noted for his regular cartoon strip Nuna & Vut. He writes a regular column for Nunatsiaq News in Iqaluit.
