Programs / String Orchestra

Students are strongly encouraged to participate in the String Orchestra Program at the Conservatory to provide an opportunity for string players age 7 and up to study and perform in a group environment. The orchestras are made up of traditional and Suzuki students.

Student placement in our orchestra program can be arranged by audition or on the recommendation of the student's private teacher in consultation with the conductor of the orchestra. Students will be expected to perform in at least two concerts per year and may be asked to participate in the annual Brandon Music Festival. The Orchestra Program runs for 30 sessions from September to May.

The schedule for the 2009/2010 year is as follows:

Beginner Orchestra Tuesday 6:00 – 7:00 Room 1-43
Junior Orchestra Monday 6:00 – 7:00 Room 1-43
Advanced Tour Orchestra Thursday 6:00 – 7:30 Room 1-43
