Community service is a major function of Canadian universities and Brandon University is no exception. For more than 100 years, faculty, staff, and students have pursued the goal of community service with energy and enthusiasm. I personally know of many members of the University community who provide countless hours of voluntary community service which help to maintain and enrich the quality of life in Brandon and area, the province, and beyond.

Normally at Convocation, the Board of Governors presents the Award for Excellence in Community Service in recognition of community service provided by members of Brandon University. Please help us recognize these individuals by taking a few minutes of your time to nominate an individual whose voluntary community service is worthy of this award. Please be assured that all nominations are held in confidence.

The Deadline for receipt of nominations is Monday, March 29th, 2010. Once, received, the Board of Governors will review the nominations and select the most worthy recipient.

Again, I urge you to take time to help recognize individuals from the Brandon University community for their efforts.
