Scholars Objectives
  1. To sustain a national commuication network of aboriginal scholars.
  2. To establish long-term communications and regional and national Elders and their communities.
  3. To form mentor/support groups among Canadian Aboriginal graduate students toward the successful completion of Masters and Ph.D theses and projects.
  4. To build leadership potential in individuals and between Aboriginal education organizations.
  5. to increase scholarly awareness and respect for First Nations, Metis and Innu traditional knowledge and lifeways.
  6. To critique and inform Canadian government and post-secondary policies, legislation and programs as they relate to aboriginal peoples.
  7. To compile an aboriginal graduate speaker's resource for Canadian communities.
  8. To produce and disseminate a newsletter that highlights aboriginal Elders and women scholars' voice.
  9. To promote the Post Secondary Educational Institutions hiring of Elders in full recognition of their traditional knowledge, wisdom and expertise.
