I, Paul Voorhis, BA (New York University, 1961), Ph.D. (in linguistics, Yale University, 1967) have retired from the departments of Native Studies and Languages in the Faculty of Arts of Brandon University, Brandon, MB. My retirement began on 1 July 1997 after 26 years of teaching at Brandon University. Prior to that, I worked at the Nishnawbe Institute, Toronto, ON, for one year, and at the Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C. for four years.

Like many academics, I retired with the results of some of my research left unpublished. The purpose of this web site is to present that unpublished research in the form of papers ready for submission for consideration by a publisher. Indeed, from time to time I may remove items from this site and submit them, but in the meanwhile they will be available here for use by interested scholars.

A bibliography of my publications is given first. None of the items listed in it will be included in the site since they are available elsewhere, though some corrections and additions to them will be placed here.
