The Faculty of Arts offers three- and four-year general and four-year specialist Bachelor of Arts Degrees, a four-year Bachelor of Business Administration Degree and four new degrees we are very excited about. We have a new four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts in which students can major in ceramics, painting and aboriginal art. Through a partnership with Assiniboine Community College, students may also major in Digital Media and Design by completing ACC's two-year Web Design Diploma. New in 2006-07 are a B.A. in Gender and Women's Studies; a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies (a quality program with the flexibility to be unique); and a B.A. in Liberal Arts for students interested in a career in early and middle years teaching.

Bachelor of Arts students need to take courses from at least five different subject areas including the natural sciences to satisfy major and minor departmental requirements (the University Calendar contains the regulations).

The majority of our students take a three-year Bachelor of Arts degree, which is good preparation for many jobs and for continuing education in Education, Law, Accounting, and other professions. We also offer four year-general, four year-specialist, four-year Bachelor of Business Administration and four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees. These programs go considerably deeper into the subject areas and make greater demands on the students. They are recommended for those who seek intellectual challenges, who wish to continue to higher degrees in their special interests, and who wish (through the B.B.A. or B.F.A.) to get professional level training.

For details about the Bachelor of Arts program consult the University Calendar.
